Frequently Asked Questions about Cultural Enrichment Programs

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Awareness

SSCEO joins you in monitoring COVID-19 as we collectively manage our families, jobs, and communities, prioritizing health and safety above all. For every event and activity, we strictly adhere to Illinois' social distancing requirements and health safety guidelines.

Workshops / Activities

Many of our events and activities will be held virtually; however, any in-person gatherings will comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines, requiring social distancing, masks, and limited participants.

Rehearsals

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we are committed to following all the guidance provided, especially the recommendations for maintaining social distance during rehearsals, which are being scheduled accordingly.

Cotillion/Beautillion Society Ball

We are continuously monitoring the developments of COVID-19 and adjusting our plans as necessary to ensure safety and health. In line with the Governor's recommendations, our Society Ball is planned for Spring of 2022. We will keep you updated on any changes and will reassess based on the guidance from the CDC and the Governor.

For up-to-date information on COVID-19 related to work, home, community, travel, and more, please refer to the CDC website. Additionally, community and faith organizations offer recommendations for educating, communicating, and preparing for these challenging times.

We also offer online payment for events to simplify your registration process. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

CDC.com Updates

Isn't cotillion just dance classes?

Cotillion is a social education program where children learn essential social skills and the art of social dance. This program not only cultivates positive, healthy habits that provide long-term advantages but also adheres to COVID-19 safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all participants. It teaches respect, courtesy, and consideration; how to properly introduce oneself; the importance of dress and appearance; and the basics of table manners and etiquette. With options for online payment for events, enrolling in the program is convenient. Throughout the course, participants gain confidence in social situations, improve their communication skills, and learn to show respect and courtesy to others.

What is the appropriate attire for rehearsals?

The overall attire for young men is business casual (i.e., slacks and hard-soled shoes) in accordance with the COVID-19 safety guidelines. Young women are required to wear dresses or skirts and heels. Jeans, sandals, mules, and boots are not acceptable footwear for rehearsal as we prioritize a professional environment while also managing online payment for events related to our social education programs.

Can I make payments online?

Yes. Payments for our social education programs are submitted using our online payment form found at the bottom of our home page. In adherence to COVID-19 safety guidelines, we also accept non-digital forms of payment, so feel free to contact us at info@ssceo.org.
